To borrow music from the Victorian Music Library you will need to become a member. If you are interested in joining, please complete this simple membership form and forward it to us.

Membership is open to students, individuals, or via your school or organisation for an annual fee, as tabled below.

Current rates and membership benefits

Local members can borrow for up to 4 weeks. Country and Interstate members can borrow for up to 8 weeks.

If required, members can negotiate an extension of their borrowing period.

* A valid student concession card must be presented to be eligible for Student memberships
  • Members are warmly welcomed to visit the library during opening hours and encouraged to browse through the collection
  • For members unable to visit the Library, or for those living outside the Melbourne metropolitan area, we can also provide a postage service at an additional cost. Music can also be returned to our post office address.

The Victorian Music Library is a not-for-profit association funded through membership fees, grants and donations. The VML is a deductible gift recipient under Australian taxation law: all donations of AU$2.00 or more are tax-deductible. Please send donations to Victorian Music Library, PO Box 236, Elsternwick, Victoria 3185.

The VML is extremely grateful for your support and we are happy to discuss ways of honouring your contribution through public acknowledgments or dedications. You may also be able to sponsor particular projects and events carried out by the library.
